Book reviews may be found in a wide variety of sources, from books to magazines to newspapers, online and in print. When searching for reviews of older books, you may want to begin your search with print resources.

First Steps
Before you use print indexes and other sources in this guide, you need to know the author's name, the title of the book, the earliest year the book was published.
If you are using an online book review source, you may be able to do to a keyword search with some words from the author's name and some from the title.
Author, title, and date information may be found in a variety of sources:
- In the book itself
- In the Library Catalog
- In another library catalog (e.g., Library of Congress)
- In WISCAT a catalog of Wisconsin library resources
- In WorldCat a catalog of library resources around the world
- At online bookstore retailers like Amazon.com or BarnesandNoble.com
